Successful 2005 Silent Auction
Thank you to everyone who worked to make the 2005 Silent Auction
such a fun and exciting night, and a special thanks to those
who braved the cold and to those who chose to miss the assorted
sports opportunities and joining us for the evening. The
weather outside might have been cold, but inside there was
great warmth and holiday cheer. Delicious food and drink
warmed our stomachs and the fellowship and music warmed our
hearts. There was plenty to keep everyone moving as well,
with our sixty packages and items to bid on. In the end,
many people went home with wonderful gifts and over $5,800
was raised for the House of Hope. Mark your calendars next
year’s auction looks to be better than ever! ~ Erin

Salad Luncheon
Our annual Salad Luncheon was held June 29, 2005 at the First
Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. There were a lot of people
in attendance, the food was great and the church hall looked
lovely.
Our thanks to First Presbyterian fort he church hall and the
assistance with setup, salads, etc. Also thanks to the Ascension
Lutheran Church for sponsoring us through Thrivent Financial
for Lutherans (matching funds) and for the salad donations.
Thanks to HyVee for providing dinner rolls and dessert. And
thanks to all the ladies form local area churches who donated
their time, salads and/or desserts. Thanks to the Heartland
Vineyard Church for printing flyers, tickets and signs. A big
thanks to all the people who worked the day of the luncheon
and to Sammy Jo Schmitt who designed and donated approximately
fifty beaded bracelets that we sold with the House of Hope
bracelets.
My personal thanks to Glenda Husome who chaired this event
and to all the Board members (and their spouses) who worked
so hard to make the luncheon a success. ~ Mary Schmitt
